As a Brand Merchandise Assistant at our corporate office in Charlotte, you will be part of a fast-paced brand management team that will focus on developing products that match our customers’ wants and needs. You will be responsible for assisting in the creation and development of a private label brand, and you will be expected to assist with tracking and organizing the different elements of the development process right from the get-go. You will help create presentation materials, and employ your understanding of concept, color, and trend to tailor brands to specific consumer groups. You will also be responsible for sending out, tracking, and organizing pre-season research and development submits for trims and fabrics while working with a cross-functional team.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be detail-oriented. You will be an organized individual who thrives at planning, and have the time management skills necessary to meet deadlines for a variety of projects. You will also be required to have strong interpersonal communication skills as you will be working with a cross-functional team here at Belk. Strong written communication ability is a must as well in the Merchandise Assistant position. Other key factors to success at this job will be your flexibility, and capability of shifting your focus toward different projects as priorities change based on trends and markets.
