Director of Replenishment

Belk is currently searching for a director of replenishment to join our team of fashion enthusiasts at our headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. The director of replenishment will execute replenishment strategies for Belk’s entire organization, making sure that all replenishment products get to the proper store at the optimal time. You will develop and manage a team of replenishment analysts who will help you devise store replenishment strategies all the way down to the stock-keeping unit level. Your team will be required to execute these strategies, improve upon existing data analysis tools, utilize these tools, and maximize profitable inventory turn. Your goal is to drive sales and minimize markdowns.

The director of replenishment will oversee the daily execution of retail replenishment strategies, and be an active participant in the Monthly Forecast and Monday Meeting processes in order to inform and collaborate with general merchandising managers, district merchandising managers, and the vice presidents of planning and allocation on ways to drive business results.

Other responsibilities associated with the director of replenishment position are partnering with logistics and transportations organizations to identify supply chain opportunities, and attending vendor meetings as a representative of the replenishment department.

Specific qualifications are needed to become Belk’s director or replenishment. First, is your ability to communicate both written and verbally in an effective manner, which will be helpful in building and managing your replenishment analyst team as well as working with other various cross-functional team members at Belk.

A four-year college degree is required, as is five to seven years of retail experience and two to three years of experience in relation to allocation or planning. You must have an adaptable personality and flexible mindset along with excellent analytical reasoning skills.

Your ability and willingness to aggressively chase new opportunities to drive allocation and margins will be an asset, and your strong technical skills that will help you effectively sift through and apply relevant data to bolster sales will also be a plus. The right director of replenishment candidate will need to be proficient in business-oriented computer programs like Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows.
